A deck built for a mild climate does not hold up through a central Pennsylvania winter. Freeze thaw cycles work joints and fasteners loose over just a few seasons, so we set footings and framing to handle the ground moving, not just to pass an inspection.
From a simple platform off the back door to a full outdoor living space, we build decks for three seasons of grilling and gathering, and a fourth spent looking out at it.
